Cal Star Evacuation Helicopter
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, and again on Thursday, November 15, 2012, a Cal Star medical evacuation helicopter landed at the recently established CSUMB Landing Zone, located along "A" Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, for Law Enforcement/Fire Personnel Training. "A" Street was closed temporarily to avoid vehicle damage from the down-draft. This training was not open to the public.The training exercise was designed for CSUMB emergency responders in collaboration with local agencies to learn more about loading a critical patient into the medical helicopter and working with the flight crew to ensure everyone's safety. The exercise was successful and additional trainings are planned for the near future.
